FAQ
What information should I send for a quote?
The more, the better! Tell us:
- What it is you need manufactured
- Where you are in the design process, from a rough idea to a finished prototype
- What you can provide, like photos, sketches, CAD files, or an existing part to copy
- Your expected batch size and how often you'll need new batches
Don't worry if you don't have everything. Send what you've got and we'll help fill in the rest.
How soon will I know what my project costs, and when do I pay?
Quoting is always free. We never charge for emails, phone calls, or advice, and asking for a quote doesn't lock you into using our services. Once we have a thorough understanding of your project, we'll send you a quote.
Scanning and design projects require a portion of the quote up front to begin the scanning and CAD design process. We'll keep you updated on progress along the way and let you know if anything about your quote changes. Final payment is due when your designs are done.
Do I need to bring my car in?
You can bring your car to us, but we also scan on the go. We can meet you in your home garage, at the shop working on your car, or even in your apartment parking lot.
What files do I get?
Whatever you need: DXF and STEP files for manufacturers, dimensioned drawings for machine shops, and STL files for 3D printing.
What are your lead times?
It depends on the scope of your project. Smaller projects that need less information can be done in 1 to 2 days. Larger start-to-finish projects, from idea to scan to design and prototype, typically take 2 to 5 weeks depending on size and complexity.
Can you also manufacture the part?
Of course! We offer in-house manufacturing, and designs built through our manufacturing team come at a discounted design cost.
